MARCH 2010

Found Carrie and Alli sneaking some frosting from their cake!

We celebrated Alli and Carrie's birthdays with the Indiana cousins the week before Alli's birthday.

Mike getting the birthday present ready for Alli...(you'll see)

Alli celebrating at her preschool.

The birthday girl gets to pick two friends to sit by her at the head table.  When I asked Alli what kind of cupcakes or cookies she wanted to take to class she said, "The black cookies with the fosting inside."  Later she told me that it was because she has a friend in her class who can only eat oreos due to a food allergy!  How generous of Alli to think of her!

Alli helping make the cake for her "real" birthday!

Hannah shaking her "consolation gift" from Grandpa and Grandma Humphrey.

...and it was a SLINKY!  FUN!

Alli's beautiful smile and her birthday cake.

ready to unwrap her gift.
Carrie said, "Oh Alli!  It's a board!  YAY!!!"  I just love that they're happy with what they get, and that they're happy for each other.

Alli helping Daddy put her gift together.

And voila!  It's a teeter totter!

Gpa and Gma Humphrey like to think outside the box--they gave Alli an excavator-thingy!  She loved it, and her Barbie drove it all around dumping and scooping things!  :)

I wanted the girls to paint their teeter totter; they had a blast!  This could turn into an annual tradition.

again...

Candy Land with Hannah and Carrie.

Awww, they love each other!

Alli with her birthday presents.

I have a box of buttons that Mom gave me filled with buttons from her mom, grandma, herself, my dad's mom, etc.  Lots of old buttons.  We spent most of a Saturday morning sorting and playing with them.  (nevermind the goofy pajamas!)

And last, but not least, Carrie's birthday celebration!  After all those cakes and frostings I had run out of powdered sugar, so I tried to make some (the way the cook book suggested), but it turned out a tad grainy.  The kids didn't mind!

This is Carrie's smile for the camera!

celebrating Carrie's day with the Burketts.

Probably her most cherished gift, a cuddly dog that looks just like Charlie!  She LOVES her Charlie-dog.  If he (the real one) whines at the door, Carrie says, "Mom, Charlie ("Chawwwlie") needs a friend."  Then she'll open the door and hug him and pet him.  He loves her and she loves him.

We went to church one evening this month to fill bags of rice/vegetable mix to send to Haiti through Feed the Children Worldwide. Hannah had a great time putting the labels on the bags (Alli and Carrie were a bit too young still).

Mike made a little rope swing with a wooden disc at the bottom of it...the girls love it!

Sisterly love.

Best friends--Grayson Burkett, Alli, and Hannah.
